Organization and Planning Make Success Possible

Being a mom and an entrepreneur is like having two full time jobs that require regular overtime. Each role makes life eventful to say the least. Daily, there are tasks to complete and challenges to overcome. Organization and planning of family and work time is essential to make success possible, prevent burnout and maintain a healthy balance.

Being a mother is a privilege, one I do not take for granted. I am intentionally involved in our children’s life. I am a 28 year veteran, homeschooling mom of our youngest two (of ten) children aged 14 and 18 years old. I am also actively involved in the lives of our adult children; our door is always open to them. We have a daily routine that gives our family structure and rhythm to operate well together.

To organize my time and my tasks I use a daily planner. This planner is great for my lifestyle because it gives me guidance for scheduling things intentionally as a mom and entrepreneur to get and maintain a rhythm for my day. There is accountability for daily self care which is outlined as bible reading, prayer, journal, exercise and getting dressed on purpose. Every day there are things that must get done, but there must also be room for the unexpected. I list just three priorities each day. When I have accomplished those I consider it a very productive day! There is also a place to list business tasks and family and home tasks separately. Of course there is a place to list scheduled appointments, meetings etc. at a specific time as well. My daily planner is the tool that allows me to organize and plan how to spend my time throughout the day. Each evening I review my daily planner and update, check off and edit if necessary as I consider the next day.

I have two full days that are designated as my weekly “work days”. On these days, I schedule my work related tasks that need my undivided attention including administrative tasks, client appointments and style consultations. On the other days of the week, I have time blocks for “work”. I use them to complete specific daily tasks. These designated work times help me manage my business with discipline and consistency.

I am wife, homemaker, homeschool mama, and entrepreneur, daily helping, maintaining, training and serving at home and in our community through my work. I am fully present, committed to the calling on my life in this season and by His grace, through organization and planning I am thriving each day!

Are you seeking support and accountability in this season of your womanhood journey?  It will be my pleasure to be your coach, to help you realize your personal goal in this season, to offer accountability and to encourage and inspire YOU along your journey.  Schedule a LET’S TALK appointment to see if you and I are a good fit for each other!

  1. Hi Michele! My day is brightened with your new post. I get ideas on how to improve my days, and encouragement to keep doing my best! I’ve been making the most of my early morning hours. By the grace of our Lord, we can accomplish what He is asking of us!

      1. My best mornings include prayer, spiritual reading, reflection and journaling. It is my goal to get to the gym 2x per week, but I’m still finding balance in this.
