Finding Balance After Burnout

The weight of mult-tasking can create a season of burnout. Like you, I am a WOMAN WITH MANY ROLES. I am a wife, homeschool mama, Mawmaw and entrepreneur. MY DAYS ARE VERY BUSY and can become overwhelming to walk through confidently. This can make me feel frustrated, impatient, unproductive and exhausted. I am called unto each of these roles, so BURNOUT IS NOT AN OPTION.

The truth of the matter is BALANCE BEGINS AND ENDS WITH ME, so to avoid burnout I have to be self aware, honest with me about me and honest with me about my family.

#1 I know that I need time to begin my day alone, slowly, so I must RISE EARLY every week day for quiet time. This is my self care, essential time for me to embrace my day with peace and joy.

#2 My role as wife and mother is to administrate; to manage our family, well. I created a daily routine which includes the things we each must do to sustain a healthly lifestyle individually and collectively…daily grooming, meals, devotions, chores, school/work and sleep. This schedule also includes uninterrupted time for my husband and I to sit and talk each morning before we start our day.

#3 It is pertinent for us to end our day on purpose. After dinner and showers, my husband is responsible for making sure the evening chores are done… kitchen, laundry, etc. This makes it easy for us to start the day with order. I intentionally prepare myself for the next day… review and update my TO DO List, edit my DAILY PLANNER, and GO TO BED by 10:00.

I am grateful for a daily routine that puts order to the things my family and I must do regularly. When I find myself feeling out of sorts, overwhelmed and stressed, I know it’s time for me to pause, reflect and consider not just the moment, but the season I am currently in and all that it encompasses. After careful consideration, I make adjustments to our daily routine if necessary and then have a family discussion to make sure we are all clear on our schedule and responsibilities which always helps to bring about a fresh perspective and respect for our lifestyle.
