Recently, my husband and I found ourselves moving our mothers to Ohio where we live, both of them within the same month. Though we had been planning to move my Mimi, moving his mom was a complete surprise. There were alot of moving parts to find and prepare their new homes. In this season, my eyes have been opened to the beauty of His faithfulness. It is offered unto me as the fresh aroma of the fruits of His Spirit.

Daily I prayed while I worked, buying, renewing and gathering furniture and household necessities. There is no area of my life that doesn’t concern God. I had no idea what I was doing, so I sought Him diligently. God ministered to my heart daily and filled me with His fruits. When I was feeling frustrated, tired or overwhelmed, I was able to respond with kindness, patience and peace. His goodness and His grace are abundant, being in submission unto Him satisfies my soul.
Putting two homes together was not an easy task. I am so glad that I did not feel alone in the process. Being in community with other women who are seeking the Lord daily has been a great inspiration to me, especially in this season. As we meet regularly and shared our experiences, I am encouraged and inspired to stay the course of my own journey. I really didn’t know how much I need them and they need me. It is good to know their stories and to pray for them as they pray for me. Have you had to make adjustments to care for a parent or and elder family member?
