Submission Is Key

Me, submit? Let me tell you, I have grown so much in my understanding of what it means to submit. Submission to God, willing placing myself under His authority, is key to my total well being. There is no area of my life that doesn’t concern Him. He created me on purpose with purpose. I know there is no better way to have peace in fulfilling that purpose than to follow Him daily and walk in obedience to His will and His way. Though it’s not always what I want to do, I find hope, confidence and joy as I submit to Him.

There have been so many transitions in my life, situations and circumstances that I did not know I would encounter and that I am sure would have been very different if I did not know God. He is my confidant, my strength and my redeemer.

Reading and listening to the Bible keeps me grounded. There are scriptures that give me insight about who God is while others give me confidence and hope about His will for me. In my daily devotions, I read through it one book at a time. This habit has blessed me to be comfortable with the Bible. I also spend time reading to find wisdom, knowledge and understanding. There is always a gentle reminder or a fresh revelation for me to embrace when I’m in His Word.

Daily devotions, time alone with God has been essential in my faith and spiritual growth.

When I talk to the Lord about all that concerns me…my thoughts, my desires, my health, my finances, my husband, our children, my family, my friends and my business, He speaks to me. Sometimes, in a still small voice, other times He speaks through His Word or His people. As I submit my heart and mind unto Him, I am able to discern His responses to me which always include wisdom that can be found and confirmed in His Word and it gives me guidance and strength.

I am not perfect. I fail along this journey, often. That which I desire to do, I do not always do and yet He is gracious to receive me, forgive me and give the strength I need to carry on. His goodness and His grace are abundant; being in submission unto Him satisfies my soul.

Do you want to draw nearer unto the Lord in this season? Join me in reading the Bible daily. Just choose a time daily, for me it is in the morning, that you will read 2-3 chapters of the Bible. Journaling my prayers has been a blessing as well.
