New Year, It’s That Time Again

Being a woman who is at home with children…homemaker, homeschool mom, work from home mom, doing all the things is not easy, but I have learned that it can be done AND it can be done without loosing my mind or my heart for being at home.

I have learned from experience that is so important for me to create and maintain routines for our family and for myself. As we move into the new year, it’s that time again for me to sit down with my husband and review each one’s daily routine. Then, I will sit down with the children to review their regular daily routine…personal care, chores, school etc. This is when I reiterate the privileges, responsibilities and consequences of having and maintaining their routine. Then, we discuss and update the Daily Family Schedule based upon the season we are currently in. We consider any activities that will be regular… sports, work etc. and add those to the schedule as well.

As I engage in the many roles and responsibilities that I have personally, it’s important for me to eliminate distractions and disruptions. I use a Daily Schedule to organize my personal, family and business tasks. This year, I will even schedule screen time to decrease time lost scrolling. Setting boundaries with others and with myself is really a big help for time management.

Last, but not least, I get a good nights sleep which for me is 6-8 hours each night. Before I end my day, I take the time to plan for the next day. I go over my Daily Schedule and I remove, add and adjust tasks to be done. This helps me to free my mind before I get in the bed. Then, I put my phone and watch on their chargers for the night.

How do you keep it all together?
