Created on Purpose

YOU were created on purpose and YOU are worthy of abundant life in Him! We each have a testimony as to how we came into this world and though the situations and circumstances vary, the Bible tells us that we were fearfully and wonderfully made! Another word for fear is reverence, an adoring, awed respect; holy. Here the reference is made that we were reverently (adoringly, in awed respect) made! Not only that, but we were also wonderfully made…that is to say marvelously, amazingly, remarkably made.

God knew each of us before we were born.  He was directly involved in our creation.  He knit you together in your mother’s womb. “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; Before you were born, I sanctified you (set you apart). I ordained (appointed) you a prophet to the nations.”  Jeremiah 1:5

Pause for a moment if you will and imagine, He who created heaven and earth, the birds of the air and the fish in the sea, the omniscient one, He who knows all, nothing exists outside of Him and nothing exist without him knowing…He knit you, He knit me, intricately, with detail in our mother’s womb. Wow!

As you imagine, think of your imperfections, your character flaws, your idiosyncrasies. Yes, He created you just as you are, unique, one-of-a-kind…on purpose.

God has a plan for each one of us, specifically. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope,” Jeremiah 29:11. We must trust the omniscient creator, God. “Trust in the Lord with all of your heart. Lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and he shall direct your path,” Proverbs 3:5-6. He has equipped us with his Holy Spirit and the fruits thereof to live justly. He has blessed each of us with gifts and talents to humbly serve others. He created you and I in His image to walk in the spirit, using our gifts and talents to glorify Him. As I lean into this, I am encouraged to embrace the Lord and be confident about who I am and whose I am. And I know that I am worthy of the abundant life God has created me for. “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well,” Psalms 139:14.
