I am a firm believer that the way I start my day truly sets the tone for the rest of the day. I rise early while my household is sleeping to begin the day with quiet time. I pray, engage the Word of God, reflect and journal. It’s so peaceful in His presence. I cast my cares upon the Lord, I wrestle with him and I receive from Him. During this time I am strengthened. My heart is refreshed and my spirit is renewed.

After my quiet time, I stretch and exercise to keep my body flexible and in shape. Caring well for myself physically helps me mentally too. This part of my morning is so important because it relieves stress and leaves me feel revived.

Every morning I take the time to put on my make up, style my hair and get dressed. Getting ready for my day, adorning myself is a must. When I look good, I feel good and I perform better. Because I take the time to prepare myself, I can make adjustments and move with confidence to meet the task at hand when things happen that are out of my control.

My slow mornings empower me! My days are so full with maintaining our home, homeschooling and managing my business. I can’t imagine how I would handle all of my responsibilities without starting each day intentionally preparing my heart, my mind and my body. Do you have a regular morning routine?
