While preparing my heart and mind for this homeschool year I was truly overwhelmed with gratitude. I am so grateful that our children do not belong to us! They are God’s children. He was so gracious to choose us to parent them. What a privilege and an honor! He entrusted each one of them to us for a time that we would train them unto Him. Wow, with confidence He blessed us with his children!

Honestly, I could not parent well without knowing God. I need Him! Our children were each beautifully and wonderfully made by Him, with purpose. He knows everything about them, so I seek him daily for wisdom and discernment regarding each one, individually. “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. . . . All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” Psalm 139:13,16)
Though I will only be teaching three of our (ten) children this school year, I will not be approaching this task without God. Each one of our boys are at pivotal times in their life…first year at a career center for a digital design course and junior year of academics, first year of high school academics and last year of elementary academics, internships, volunteer opportunities and team sports. I’m excited for them. Actually, I am excited for us! With God all things are possible. I can’t wait to see all that He leads us through this school year.
